A while ago, you may recall a post on Winterizing your cocktails using Birch and Maple syrups. But now as the seasons shift it's time to take another look at what we're drinking.
So while perusing the Esquire Drink Database, I happened upon the Scotch and Lime - Hemingway's go-to cocktail... some of the time. I know many people are not Scotch fans, but this just might be the answer to using that bottle languishing in the cabinet.
And it's simple to make! Like a gimlet, just add lime to your spirit with a couple of ice cubes. Stir. Now you'll have time to cultivate your Summer wardrobe a la Papa Hemingway in the 1940's and 50's.

Scotch and Lime
3 oz Scotch
1/2 oz Lime
Add all to a rocks glass with a couple large cubes of ice and stir.
Notes: blended scotch is great here. Also, order this at a bar or restaurant - just ask for scotch on the rocks and half a lime. Squeeze the juice yourself. Then sit back, sip your scotch and read this.
